With the Olympic Games less than a year away, the city of Bordeaux is preparing to welcome athletes and supporters to this global event. Sports fans, and those who don't have tickets to the games, here are our tips for experiencing the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in the city of wine.
Experience the arrival of the Olympic flame in Bordeaux
To mark the start of the Games, the Olympic flame will tour France before arriving in the capital for the opening ceremony on July 26, 2024. Departing from Greece on April 16, the flame will arrive in Bordeaux on May 23, at the Cité du Vin, one of the city's most emblematic monuments. If you'd like to treat yourself to a trip to the Bordeaux wine region, the flame will also make a stopover in Saint-Emilion, Libourne, Mérignac and other must-see towns in the region before its passage through Bordeaux.

Soccer events in Bordeaux
Officially selected by the members of the Olympic Games Committee, Bordeaux will host some of the men's and women's soccer events in 2024. The famous Matmut-Atlantique stadium will play host to players from all horizons from July 24 to August 2, 2024. For those who haven't yet booked a place at the matches, the ticket office is now open to all. No fewer than 7 matches will take place in Bordeaux, including a decisive quarter-final in the race for the gold medal.

At the dawn of the 2024 Games, celebration sites specially designed for the event will be set up in every region of France. They will enable the whole of France to live to the rhythm of the events during the summer of 2024.
